I personally don't care. It doesn't bother me one bit what someone thinks of me. I know I'm a fantastic mom & the people I do care what they think, are the ones living with me & the choices I make for our family.

But when it comes right down to it: there's no valid reason for feeding your children junk. There are valid reasons for formula feeding.

Though I had to learn that. When I would FF Spawn when she was an infant, strangers would come up to me in public and insult me, call me a bad mom and that I wasn't doing what was best for my baby. I was insulted by so many people, friends, ex's family and strangers for FFing, let alone what people would say here on BG.

I've learned over the years to block it out.

some people cant produce milk, like myself.
i lost it all within 2 weeks. made 1oz out of each every 3 hours.

i think BF and FF are much different than feeding your kid unhealthy food.

you have no choice to switch to formula. but youdo have a choice on what to feed your children when theyre old enough to eat solids.

plus, formula made today is trying their best to immitate breastmilk. FF moms are still feeding their babies with something nutritious.

Sometimes. It depends on if I know them and their circumstances. I try not to judge if I don't know them as I don't know why they would chose to formula feed and both of my chidlren have had formula in their lives at some point (just as both of my kids have had soda LOL). But if I know them and know their reasons I'll tell them they're stupid if I think they're stupid for FF.

I guess I compare it to BFing moms in the USA... I hear you get crap for BFing in public... here you get crap for FFing! hahaha


But yeah, it sucked really bad. My mother pressured me into not trying at first.. I did try but I was so stressed.... then I got pregnant right away and was high risk and the doctor said to just stick with formula because of the stress.... Also I had hyper-lactation and Spawn would choke on the pressure and speed of milk coming out.

People judge, but they rarely know the reasons or details behind it. And they don't know how guilty some women feel for not being able to or maybe even for not wanting to.


I regret it, to be honest, and hope I can BF this time around!

That's insane for people to come up to you and blast you for it. I'd almost have to carry some pepto tablets to handout for their diarrhea of the mouth.

We all judge each other... even though I try not to I do it too....

But to tell someone they are stupid for feeding their child is over-board for me. I mean, my SIL chose to FF, she didn't even attempt BFing because she didn't want to.... she is an awesome mom (a serious bitch, but an awesome mom).

I think some opinions don't need to be spoken.

I hope people do not feel I am a smurffy Mom for FF my baby girl. I have been dealing with some pretty serious issues since my c-section and think I made the best choice...with my oldest, I was told I had to stop. I got very depressed. I have been depressed this time around as well because it is instinct to want to breastfeed. I am very fussy about both children. With my oldest, once she was introduced to baby food, it was all organic, all the time and I would chart to make sure she got exactly what she was needing. And I have always fed her healthy and made sure she gets all her food groups. I make sure that she gets a lot of fruits, vegetables and healthy food choices for her meals, and she occasionally gets sugary treats but we never overdue it.
If I am a bad Mom because I simply had a FF, so be it. Cannot change what is.

I told my sister she was stupid for FF her youngest. She FF her oldest (had some issues in the beginning, I can respect trying), BF'd her middle, then FF her youngest because she said it was "easier". I told her she was stupid. Because, honestly, she is and not just for that.

To me, I do not find it easier. I find it harder. All the prep that has to go into FF a baby as oppose to BFing....getting the bottles ready, sterilized, preparing, and having to make sure you have everything with you every single time you leave the house....it is easier to just pop a titty in their mouth to me. Not to mention night feedings....you can only have mixed formula out for two hours before it is no longer good to feed so you cannot really pre-prepare it so someone has to get up and go make it while you deal with a crying baby....I would rather BF if I could.
