*poll* TV in your kids bedroom
posted 6th Oct
I've noticed that most of the kids I know have tv's in their bedrooms. I mean like toddler age kids too. Do you have a tv in your kids room? Have you always planned on it or did you not want to do it but ended up anyway? Is it more a pain than not or does it work out well for your kids? If you don't have a t.v. in there now, do you have a plan for when you want to get them one? I'm just curious to see the poll, and discuss if you'd like!

I don't believe in tv in any bedrooms, ever.

My 2 and 3 year olds share a room and they have a tv in there. It doesn't have cable so the only thing they can watch is movies we put on, if we turn them on. Usually it's only right before bedtime for about 45 minutes before we read their bedtime story.

Until he was 2 1/2 we shared a room anyway and I had one in there. So once he got his own room, it wasn't a big deal for him to have one. He usually only watches it at night before bed. He's 4 now. We've never had an issue with it.

my DD got her own TV in her room around when she turned 5. it's more of a convenience thing for us. instead of making us watch her shows she can go to her room and watch them and play. she doesn't spend that much time watching TV either.

Kids are 3&5. No tv in their room until at least middle school. We have a tv in the living room & our bedroom, that's it.
We don't sit & watch tv all day. Playing outside is done everyday.

I put a TV in my son's room at about the age of 2. We put it in ther bc I was tired of watching cartoons! lol He'll want to go watch something in his room every now and then, so it makes it easier for him to watch cartoons, also he will play w/ his toys too. But we DO NOT let him sleep w/ it on... Bad habit to start IMO.

My son has a tv in his bedroom (not hooked up to cable & only plas VHS) he can't reach it and it rarely gets used in his bedroom but I keep it on top of his armoire. It's a small one so its easy to move around and out a movie on for him and we use it for play dates and stuff

I got a tv for my girls for their 4/6 birthdays. They were able to watch movies on the weekends (they had "sleepovers") and I kept tabs on how often it was on.
My oldest decided to not obey, though, so it's been taken away until she can follow the rules.
I always swore I wouldn't give my kids a tv, but I got really sick of watching the same kid crap I've and over ha

No tv in the bedrooms. We don't have one, and they don't need it either. DH agrees completely. We have one, in the living room, and that's all we need.

Yes, my son has had a TV in his room since about 2. Thankfully, he doesn't watch it excessively. He'd rather we all watch a movie together in the living room.

Deans 6 and Jades 2 and half and both have tv, cable, dvd players and netflix in their rooms...
They watch whatever for an hour before bed on a timer and then it goes off and they are already asleep... sooo its fine for us...

My kids don't, we don't even have cable. I have been considering buying my boys (almost 13) a nice flat screen though for their room until the new game room is finished. . We will be living in butt smurf no where soon with a small cap on downloading so I'm probably going to get cable.
