Quoting {tamz}:" He should be getting 5 shots total, starting the beginning of Nov., most kids get their last shots in ... [snip!] ... the end of the month. RSV shot can cost up to 2000-5000 a shot from what I've heard!! Our copay is going to be $120 "Well that makes me feel better, ty. I thought he would miss a month. However his medicaid runs out on Jan 20 (his bday). I don't know how i will afford the last two months of that vaccine :-(. My husband stays home with our son because we were told not to place him in child care for at least his first year so i am the only one working. This really blows. I wish they were more reasonable with these meds especially since 1 in 12 babies are born prematurely in this country. F-ing pharmacutical companies, like they don't make enough money as it is!
Quoting TheHandyMomma:" My sons new pedi and his past two dont even offer the rsv vaccine because most cant afford it. he never ... [snip!] ... this year... he was a 27 weeker so i am looking to find a dr who will give it to him after i see if the ins will approve it."The hospital where my son was born has an RSV clinic for their preemies but I had the option of having the shots sent to his pedi instead of driving all the way out to the clinic (1hr away). That is really odd that your pedi doesn't administer them...maybe see if the hospital your LO was born at has a clinic?
