Thats the problem with this kitten right now, although she isnt allergic to them. I can't give her any meds yet because she isnt old enough, but I bathed her in dawn and they still didnt get off her. I am just going to take her to the groomers so they can be with one scratched by her. lol.

Pixie, my dog, is VERY allergic to fleas and pollen so I have to get her a shot so she doesnt bald from scratching.

All these fur babies are so cuuuute!!!

Here is my fur baby Slayer, my 5year-old male tuxedo kitty. Don't let the cuteness fool you; he's a little baby with humans but with other cats and animals bigger than him, he's vicious!

Below is my rat family; the large grey rat is the daddy Stormy, the large brown/black rat is the mommy Dahlia. The hairless baby is Angel, she is the only one I kept. The others are still with their parents but belong to my friend Marie.

Quoting Lil Dude's Mamma:" Lola, my bullmastiff! Sweetest dog I know "

Aww, I love all mastiffs, they are so cute. My mom was going to adopt one, he was so sweet. But once we introduced him to our other dogs, they didn't get along because the mastiff tried to hump my mom's female dog and that didn't go over so well. (they got into a bad fight, because my mom's dog is dominant and her other dogs know that, but that guy fought back) So sad.

Aww, poor kitty. I remember when my mom got our 2nd family cat when I was little, Casper (RIP), she got him from this breeder who didn't take care of the cats, but she said she felt so bad for him that she had to get him, he was covered in fleas, she picked them off of him one by one and squished them in between her nails to kill them because he was too young to have medicine too. Aww, poor Pixie.   My grandma said her cat she used to have, Scooby, was allergic to fleas too that he had to have allergy shots at the vets at certain times of the year.

Aww, your kitty is so cute! I love rats too! I used to have them all throughout high school, a lot of my family hated them though. & when my step dad was home we (my brother and sister and I) had to keep them in our bedroom. I can still remember all of their names and their personalities, I really got attached to the ones that were mine, they were awesome pets that never bit anyone even when my little brother decided to pick them up and squeeze a little too hard (he didn't hurt them, thank god, but after that he wasn't allowed to pick them up and only allowed to touch with one finger)

Agreed! It's so amazing how the behavior of rats are shaped according to the way you treat and raise them! I was going to get mice but when my friend bought one, I took him out of the box and he bit me so hard he drew blood. Mean little bugger.

My friend had gotten a litter of rats to feed to her snake, but she wanted some to find homes so she gave me two. They turned out to be male and female. They were babies, the mother was extremely nervous and scared of everything, but the male was very curious and learned that I meant him no harm, he licked me and ran up to the cage whenever I went to open it. Eventually after a few months, the mother followed suit and was happy to see me, ran up my arm and down my shirt to cuddle, and licked my hand. Once she had her babies, they thought my fingers were food so they would nibble on my hand. The mother would quickly correct the behavior by pushing them aside and licking my hand furiously. They followed suit. She taught her babies to be nice to me, and even they anticipated my arrival and they run up to the cage door as I open it. Never once have they bitten me. I love that such small animals can recognize love and affection and give it back to me   it reminds me that I'm doing a good job with them!

That's our our rats were. Once we entered the room they ran up to the door and wanted to see us. & a couple of them licked us too, I thought it was the cutest thing. This one rat Lily was the sweetest of them all, we referred to her as everyone's because everyone loved her and she was so affectionate to everyone, even people she just met. Even some of my family that didn't like rats loved Lily. It was the best. That's cute that the mother taught the babies that you weren't food. We had this other rat that was Lily's sister we named her Grace she was huge and she had one small eye (we think she couldn't see out of it) so she took a long time to know that we weren't going to hurt her and we had to make sure we moved slow when we were around her or she would freak out. But eventually she came around and it sucked because once she started coming around she got really sick and we had to get her put to sleep because the medicine the vet gave us wasn't working. The feeling I got walking into the bedroom and them just so excited so see me made me feel special and made me feel important, especially when I was feeling down. Even when we let them out of their cage and they could run around where ever they wanted to whenever they got scared of something they would run to us. It was cute. My child (when a little older) will probably have a rat (if he wants) as one of his first pets.

Haha agreed, whenever something spooks my rats, like my cat comes in the room and spots them, they climb up my arm and crawl into my shirt or they jump up my lap, on my chest and into my shirt. It's super cute, they know I'm there to protect them. One of my landlady's dogs bit the female and I had to flick the dog's nose and yell at her for her to stop. Dahlia's known I'm her protector ever since. The male figured it out once I taught my cat that he wasn't food or a toy.

I agree, rats are amazing first pets   the only bad experience I've had with a rat was a wild one.....as big as a cat, and it seeked me out and attacked me more than once. Good thing I was on my bike! Yikes!
