Question!!!

I'm exactly 1 month pp. I had 3rd degree tears and over 100 stitches. I was taking a bath tonight and I noticed that I still have a LOT of stitches down there...maybe all of them. My Dr. didn't really explain the healing process very well, but I assumed they were disovible stitches. Does anyone know how long they stay in for? Is it normal to still have that many in there? Everything is pretty much painless at this point (except for the hemorrhoids and weird clit pain). I'd like to start having sex again (it's been since I was about 7mnths pregnant) but I'm nervous about it with those stitches in there.

I wouldn't have sex with your stitches either. Your body needs to heal. Having sex could cause your stitches to rip.

Yeaaaa...I figured I'd probably wait on the sex thing, but I'd still like to know if it's normal for those stitches to still be intact.

It could take 6 months 4 ur stitches to go away since their are so many

wow, 6 months! I've never heard of stitches lasting that long...but then again, I've also never had my vag stitched up lol

i had a second degree tear and i could still feel my stitches at about 4wks pp, im 10 wks pp now and no stitches any more i guess they dissolved. i feel great at 10 wkspp

What color are your stitches? If they are black they are not dissolvable.
