re: Need non-CIO tips please

The drop was a problem for my oldest also. After we put her in there we would stay and rub her back and she eventually went to sleep. Someone mentioned patting the mattress that helped a lot also.

That's actually the way isotherm to sleep in her crib a while ago, only lasted a month though. With her being a preemie I think we gave in more especially cause she needed the sleep to help her grow and crying burnt precious calories.

She just became interested in tv, maybe I'll start letting her watch one show but only from her crib.

I've been told that if you let them fall into a deep sleep before you put them in their crib they are more likely to stay asleep. This is when they are completely still, and if you try to wake them by moving them around or pick up an arm and drop it and she doesn't wake up or fuss then she is in deep sleep. Its a short window of time! Hope you find a solution!

We always have a box fan on in the girls' bedroom. Helps a lot (especially with how darn creaky the hardwood floors are throughout the house).

Other than that I'm no help, lol.
Our almost 6 y/o was over 4 when she finally started sleeping in her own bed regularly and she still co-sleeps whenever she gets the chance.

Felicity refused to co-sleep after 6 months and has been sleeping on her own since then.

But the fan helps keep them asleep longer in the morning (if I forget to turn it on they're both up at 5 when DH gets up for work).

For the outer fabric, pretty much anything will do (flannel, quilters cotton, poly/cotton knits, tshirt material).
Inside I usually do a layer of fleece (touching the outer material) then a few layers of flannel or birdseye (usually use receiving blankets, lol) then for the part touching babies butt I like cotton velour (though that's pricier, terry (like baby towels) works well too.
For the soaker I use multiple layers of flannel or birdseye and cotton velour.
