Being a bastard has nothing to do with how many men your mother has children with.
If the children were conceived out of wedlock, they are by definition bastards.
I'm not sure why everyone gives the word so much power. Yes, it can be used as an insult but it has an actual meaning as well.
If I used it out of context, I could understand getting upset but I used it correctly, when it fit the situation.

I know what it is, but a bitch is a female dog. Would you yell out the door to your dog "Come here, bitch! Here bitch!" LOL I dont know why I am laughing because it's not really funny, but it's just one of those inappropriate things to say regardless of his correct meaning.

One of my 4 brothers and I are bastard children. The other three weren't branded with that title. It took me a long time not to care when people referred to me as a bastard. I'm 24 now and could care less. But I would hate to have my oldest daughter be called a bastard. It was not her fault that I conceived her at a horrible time in my life. It was mine. She shouldn't have to be the one to pay for it and be branded like I was.

People that deal with dogs, breeding them and such refer to them as bitches all the time. Even books about dogs say it.
That's a great example actually, when it fits the situation, it's appropriate. When using it as iran insult, it's not.

Not really. People give their dogs names so I've never heard someone calling their dog "here dog, here dog" they say it's name. And breeders call them bitches all the time and the AKC.

Regardless of your opinion on op, if they are married she would be intitiled to whatever she married into unless she signed a prenuptial agreement. Her husband is hopfully a smart man and had her sign one if he is well off and she came in with little to nothing, but that is their buisness.

I have to agree, the word bastard is just such an ugly negative word. Regardless if it fits the situation, there is nothing nice about that word.
anyways, congrats OP. I would take my time before telling his parents, even if it's months down the line...make an effort to get to know eachother before dropping the bomb.

Not in California, and in other states not sure about yours. She's entitled to what he's gotten after they got married not things he's already had. So you're wrong.

She would be entitled to assets accumulated during marriage nothing prior to the marriage is claimable unless her husband did something to make it marital property such as putting her name on the house deed

I'm glad someone who is studying this stuff is in here. You kind of know what you're talking about, you have to, it's for your degree. Lol
