Breastfeeding Question

So I am attempting to BF but I need to use a nipple shield (and I'm having a hard time weening my daughter from it) which makes BFing very unenjoyable for me so I have been pumping during the day and only offering the breast at night. I try to pump on a schedule but it sometimes doesn't work out as planned not to mention when I go back to work I'm going to be working 12hr shifts and can't be guaranteed pumping breaks because of the nature of my job. Well, my supply is suffering, my DD is taking 3-4oz at a time but I can only pump 1-2oz per side at a time. So I was wondering what are your thoughts on Fenugreek capsules. I've done a bit of research on it and I know this is more of a question for my Dr but my appt got rescheduled for a week later and I do plan on asking him but I just want other opinions if anyone has used it to help their supply. TIA for your opinion.

Nothing ever helped my supply except nursing constantly.

I also heard oatmeal helps. I ate a pack every morning until my supply was well established.

Thanks for your replies! Like I said, nursing constantly isn't really an option, if I nurse her a lot with the shield my nipples bleed   as for the oatmeal I have tried it lol without avail (and I HATE oatmeal lol)

Are you working with a LC? If not find one to help you. I have tried everything (except oatmeal) fenugreek,tea,blessed thistle, brewers yeast, prescription pills, and tons of other things. Baby to breast was the only thing that worked so you need to find a way to make that work.

I am not working with a LC, I was working with a lady in my area with my oldest and she was a real creeper. I called her office to cancel an appt because I had to work and she actually showed up at my work place to try to have the appointment! I don't think she is getting enough when she's on the breast anyway, she will nurse for hours (literally) and then scream until I feed her more! With both my girls I have had problems with BFing but damn it if I'll try like hell!
