She'll be fine.

My dog surprisingly eats little bits of chocolate every now and then (not purposely, just things that the twins drop). She's a chihuahua as well.

Thank God! I almost had a fricken heart attack! I'm usually really careful what falls on the floor, but that damn dog is always at my feet when she knows I'm eating. I chased her down and tried to stick my fingers down her throat to grab them, but they were gone

Meh. I had a boxer once that ate a lb of peanut butter meltaways. It was a brand new box, that he ripped the plastic off of, and managed to open the container without tearing into it.

You really have to worry when they get into baker's chocolate or dark chocolate. The more additives in the chocolate, the less harmful. Doesn't mean it isn't, just that it is less. Also, no garlic, grapes, onions...there's a huge list of what dogs cannot have, that we feed them anyway.

I knew about the grapes and onions....and I assumed garlic was one of them too. I once gave my dog a grape to see if he could eat it (because back then, it was practically the size of his head! haha) and my aunt yelled at me and said it could kill him...now I'm very careful with what I give them off of my plate.

I'm just glad she's ok. It was baker's chocolate chips, and that's why I freaked out. Even though it was just 2 tiny chocolate chips, it still scared me since she's only 5 pounds. I wouldn't have been overly concerned if she was a bigger breed.

You would be surprised. My sister used to make her dog's food, becaue he wouldn't eat his dog food. Then, when she finally got fed up with that, she would mix his dog food w/ peanut butter.

Even my SO's family who are pretty much poor give their dogs only dog food! haha

I only make my dog's food as a treat. Then they get chicken, rice, whole grain bread, egg, and broccoli all mixed together. They LOVE it.

My chocolate Lab and Boxer get 4Health chicken and rice.

They get milkbones as treats. I try not to feed them people food, because my Lab has incontinence as a result of her spaying, and her being over weight just exasberates the entire thing. BUT...my Kiddo feeds them. She drops her food, and they eat it. It isn't enough for a meal and barely enough for a snack. Her left overs get thrown away.

My other boxer I had (the one who ate the lb of peanut butter meltaways) was a HUGE boy. 85 lbs. In excess, chocolate is bad. I use to hide m&ms in his lips when he slept....
