I had this whole nice detailed thing typed out... and I kept having to walk away from the computer, so BG logged me out, or something, and the WHOLE THING was deleted. FML. lol
So, short and sweet...
EDD was 9.24.2012, induction set for Oct 4, 2012.
Started having regular contractions around midnight on Oct 2nd, Tuesday. They were about 8-10 minutes apart. At about 2:45/3ish, I took a shower to see if that would help them go away, or if they'd get worse. They totally got worse. I had at least 12 contractions in the shower. They were lasting for about 30 seconds, and coming at 2 minute intervals. I figured we might as well head to the hospital! In the car, the contractions were pretty bad, but they were much more spaced out. They were lasting about 1 minute each, and it was a terribly intense squeezing sensation in my hips. I couldn't talk through them, and it totally sucks being strapped to a seat lol.
Once in the hospital, admitted at 4:50 am, I had three contractions in the bathroom just trying to give the L&D nurses a urine sample. Once hooked up to the monitors, I had about 4 or so contractions, I was checked to be 6 cm already!! I was so shocked. And next thing I know, I'm having one really, really, really strong contraction. Felt different.... I had a lot of pressure, I guess. That had to have been the difference, because suddenly my water just busted all over the bed. It spread out underneath me, and soaked the bed all the way out to my feet! There was SO much of it! And more came out with every contraction I had.
They rushed to call the doctor, and took me to a birthing room. Within ten minutes, I've had just a few more rolling back to back contractions, every 30 seconds or so, lasting for a really long time. I don't even know how long they were lasting lol. They tried putting an IV starter in, but suddenly my body is just bearing down and pushing. I couldn't control it, and I started screaming. It was embarrassing, but I couldn't shut my trap! Aurora, who was still in the room with us, started screaming, and I felt like absolute crap.
I told Justin to get her out, even though I didn't think about what he was going to do. We both obviously wanted him in the room when the baby was born, but in the moment, I just wanted her to be away from me because I couldn't shut myself up. I just kept squalling. (a really nice nurse offered to take her to the nurse's station and let her color. So Justin was able to stay with me, which was great!) The nurses, all 6 or however many there suddenly were, told me to push, but I felt like I couldn't possibly be ready. Even though my body was doing it without me, I just felt like I should try to stop it. But the nurse checking my cervix said I was definitely at 10 centimeters dilated, and to push! So, I did. Just like two times, and I reached down to feel the head crowning. A few more pushes and the baby was spreading my... clitoral area out, and it started burning so bad.
I knew I had to push past it, even though it hurt terribly. Someone was pushing my perineum out of the way, and it helped greatly. Once the head finally popped out, the nurse told me to push just once more, and out came the shoulders (which I totally forgot about, and it made me holler again). They placed the baby on my tummy, but said the umbilical cord was short so I couldn't pull the baby up to my face/chest. I was able to cut the cord, and I finally saw that it was a GIRL!!
Recovery has been amazing. I didn't tear, even with my previous episiotomy and 3rd degree tear (from Aurora's delivery.) I was shocked! My bleeding has almost entirely ceased. It would be considered spotting, if anything!! It's fantastic! We were both doing so well, that we were discharged just over 24 hours after admittance/birth.
We had to have a follow up appointment today because we were discharged 'early,' and the pediatrician said she was slightly jaundiced, and has a -click- in her hip, which she wants to have an US for that...
Mirabelle Eilidh [Eye-lee] B-R, born at 5:29 am on October 3rd (only about 40 minutes after being admitted!), weighing 7 lbs 11.8 oz (she was 7.2 lbs this morning), 20.5 inches long. ALL NATURAL labor and delivery. I'm so proud that things happened like that! It was so quick, and perfect, and kind of easy.

& just for comparison, here's Aurora on her DOB:
