what age did you potty train your children

My son is 18months old and hates wearing his diaper, especially if he has used it. my husband and i have been talking about ideas to get him started, but we have not done anything yet, and his mother and my mother have been singularly unhelpful.
any ideas would be helpful.

You can get a potty and maybe put him in undies at home but I wouldn't push pt'ing yet. It could very easily backfire.
If he hates being wet, change his diaper more often

That's kinda young. My son has been whipping his diaper off since about that time and peeing in corners and out the back door and stuff haha He's almost 3 and not completely potty trained yet. He just likes being naked.

I started to TRY to PT my son at 3.

A lot of kids go through a phase of not wanting to wear their diapers. If your child is not ready don't push it. My kids were potty trained at 3 years old.

My boys trained very late. 3 years 9 months and 3 years 1 month. My oldest was very hard to train because he didn't care if he was wet/dirty.
I suggest getting him a little potty and seeing if he's interested in it. 18 months is still young so I wouldn't push it. If he is interested and he understands "rewards" give him a little treat for going in the potty. A few raisins, some M&M's etc. Or you could make him a sticker chart and give him small toy rewards for getting a certain number of stickers on the chart.

I started potty training at 2 with all of them and by about 2 1/2 they were completely potty trained. It all depends on the child though. Some of my friends kids were trained by age 2 and some of them were almost 4.

Both of my children were fully potty trained and in underwear day and night by 3. I started at 2 with both. Maybe a little sooner. Buy a potty and put it in the bathroom and when you go, have him go as well. Give rewards when he goes potty and cheer him on. My kids loved it.

i started potting training at 16 months, she still uses a diaper at night and sometimes has accidents but like they said dont push it. the only reason she likes using it is because it sings to her to when she pees lol.

My daughter just started about two weeks ago. She will be 4 next month. She just wasn't interested. She was almost there jsut after she turned 2 but then our son came early and she was with my parents for 6 weeks so she reverted.
I have a friend who's daughter was trained before she was two and she said she's going to start working with her son too. Just don't push him : )

My son is two and is no where near being ready to potty train. Little Man just likes to run around the house touching himself..
