too high?

posted 5th Oct
my daughter is 10 months old and she has a temp of 103.2 would you say take her in? we have no baby tylenol that can be given to a child under 2 years. ive tried a cool wet cloth on her head she is fussy but no vomiting, sneezing or cughing.

so i talked to my doc and he said to give her a half of tsp of childrens ibprofen (normal dose is 1tsp for a 24-35lb child( mine is maybe 20lbs) and also give her a cool bath...after getting off the phone with the doc i realized the ibuprofen expired a year ago. does that mean its bad or just wont work? the bath took her temp down to 100.3 so i dont thinnk i would need it anyways but im just curious.

Go get some infant tylenol or call the doctor and find out the dosage for whatever tylenol you do have. The first thing the hospital will do is give meds and if that fixes it then you have wasted a trip to the ER.

Tyenol is normally based on the weight. Call your pedi and they will tell you how much to give her. It's not worth going to the ER if you haven't tried tyenol. More then likely all the ER will do is give meds.

You need to get some infant tylenol or something.
That way you can try to treat the fever at home first before going to the ER.

Why does your baby need Tylenol frequently? You don't know how big her infant is or what the concentration of the tylenol is, I think she should get the recommendation of the pedi, honestly.

Exactly. My youngest at 8 months weight 5lbs less than my oldest did at her age. I also have the "old" tylenol so 1/2 a tsp would be an overdose.

He does not take it all the time it was for teething and high temp. My 10month old is 16lbs dont think you can get much smaller then that, and yes calling the pedi is best. And I didnt ask for you're 2 cents but thanks tho.

Ok, psycho. I asked a question is all. "can't get much smaller than that" doesn't equate to "my kid can handle it, so can yours"... especially if you don't know the concentration, like I said. And I didn't ask for YOUR attitude.
