My husband and I both have degrees and we didn't take any money from the tax payers to do it. We each worked 1-3 jobs at a time and left school with lots of debt.

Scholarships, private grants, and work. Yep, if you aren't willing to pay for it yourself, you must not want it bad enough and you are more likely to appreciate your schooling if you work for it and don't have someone else pay for it.

There was a kid going to school the same time as me. His parents were super poor and he was getting all kinds of low income help. He wasted 2 years of taxpayer dollars and then dropped out of school. 10 years later and he still hasn't gone back.

Well it was a priveledge that people had..until Obama's dumbass came around. And i dont need the government to pay but it is nice to have some of my schooling paid for. If i had to take it ALL out in student loans id never be able to even pay it all back. I already have lots of student loan debt. And now to get my Masters i will have to rack up even more.

One BIG reason why college is so expensive right now is because of the government. If the government would stop subsidizing it so much, tuition would come down.

My point is....im in school to get a good job. Im not going to waste time working for years trying to save money to pay for it...when i have 2 kids to pay for and all my bills. Why waste time when i can get my degree now?

And that's something you want. Higher education is not a right... It shouldn't be this expensive, but it is most definitely not your right to have. If you want it, you have to pay for it.

Well im obviously still paying for most of it. But its given to us...why not take advantage of it? Its there for a reason...for the people who cant afford to pay for it themselves.
