does this sound like it...well heres some history mixed in
my son was born prematurely at 34 weeks
had a very floppy head for the first 9 months of his life
at 10 months started saying baba. no other consonants.
at 11.5 months abruptly stopped making any sounds at all
10 months stopped making any sort of eye contact
seems to ignore anyones presence.
Never responded to name
is always flipping over toys to try and find its wheels to spin
doesn't know how to put toys in a container
doesn't show attachment to anyone. i hope its not my fault. ive worked with him everyday on what his various early intervention therapists have told me....
It's not your fault. My son is on the Autism spectrum. We haven't had him tested bc it's not extreme, it's very mild. He did early intervention for a while and I didn't really see a change in him. After the Early Intervention was over, which was @ 3 yrrs. of age, they referred us to a special learning school for kids w/ all types of learning disablilities. They evaluated him and said that he qualified for speech therapy and therapy for his fine motor skills, and we do this once a week.
The reason we started all of this is I noticed he was acting different at the age of 1. He started rocking a lot, lining his toys up and having a complete meltdown if they got out of place, and the main one was social skills, only towards kids, he will not interact w/ them at all, he will scream and cry and just shake being near kids, he's getting better but not 100%.
Sorry for rambling, but yes, it sounds like your LO definitely has Autism.
