1 yr old with bloody nose

I admit...my kids are not rowdy. I take a lot of measures to make sure they dont get hurt. So even though I have 3 older kids..I have never dealt with a bloody nose. My 1 yr old was drinking a cup, tripped over some blankets and smacked the TV stand. Her nose is pouring blood. She isnt crying anymore, but I keep wiping up blood.   How am I suppose to treat this? It's been 15 min and the bleeding hasnt stopped.

This is odd, but if you have a small tampon cut off the string and stick it up her nose. If she fills that all the way up or if it bleeds for like 20 more mins you may want to take her to the ER to make sure she didn't break her nose. DS has random nose bleeds but they're done within 10 mins.

Pinch the bridge of his nose & use a cold washcloth

Unfortunately, I dont have tampons. Havent had a period since I got pregnant with her. I will try using cotton off a q-tip though. Thanks for the advice. None of my kids except her has bled from the nose.

My brother had nose bleeds as a toddler ALL the time. We just put cotton balls in his nose.

My eldest is always falling with his cup and busting his mouth :/ luckily it's just been very small and he rarely run with his cup anymore.

However, he did slice his thumb and bleed for 12 hours straight, had to have it derma bonded three times and it came off 4 times. They finally just wrapped it up and sent him for blood tests to see if he has hemophilia

Thanks, ladies. I shoved a piece of cotton from a qtip in her nose. I also pinched the bridge of her nose before I did. She laughed when I pinched her nose, so I am sure it isnt broken...but.....she has a fat nose now. It's all swollen, like Marsha Brady. lol
