Teen moms/ Young Moms?
posted 5th Oct
im 18 and 24 weeks 3 days with a boy. and i get that im "young" but sometimes i just get so exhausted and annoyed with how people talk to me like im 4 or making the biggest mistake even have to nerve to tell me i made a mistake. My family wasnt so happy at first but everyone is starting to come around and my boyfriend of almost 3 years and his family are extremely supportive. To me its just obnoxious to go to the store or on walks and people stare at me constantly and then when people ask me how far i am and i saw 24 weeks they tell me how unhealthy i am and how im going to have a unhealthy baby because im still so little for being 24 weeks (i started weighing at 118 and now weigh 124) so i havent gained much weight but its still noticeable. but i was just curious if this happens to anyone else besides me?

Tell them you have a doctor...you aren't paying for their advice so move on.

I'm 21 and had my little girl 4 days before my birthday. Although I'm older, people still treated me like a "little girl" or I was "too young", but that fed fuel to the fire so that I could be the best mom I can be. Every day I'm proving ALL of those people wrong on the stereotypes and labels. All you can do is be the absolute best mom you can be for your baby and do NOT let what anyone says influence you.

I'm 27 and have been told by people I'm too old to be starting a family... I should have been done having kids by now.
Everyone has opinions and they are usually dumbass opinions. Just ignore them, not much more you can do!

Tell them if they knew anything about pregnancy, they'd know that babies dont really pack on the pounds until maybe the last month. And how the hell would they know if you're unhealthy? When its your first, it takes much longer to show. I didnt start showing til around 5 months. lol Just ignore them.

Hi I'm 18 and I'm 23 weeks along I get the comment "a baby having a baby" all the time plus alot of other comments cuz my daughters dad isn't involved pisses me off they act like cus I'm 18 I'm too stupid to take care of my own child. I've told ppl to shove their opinions up their ass a few times. I blame hormones for tht one lol. Try not to let it bother you some ppl don't start really showing till closer to the end than we are. I wish I was as lucky as you I'm huge already. I can't even see my toes!!

It's pretty stupid when people say you're small if you're only 24 weeks.
I was small as hell 9 months pregnant and had an 8 pound baby. I even had to get an u/s to make sure my daughter was thriving in the womb because I always measured about a month behind.. My pre pregnancy weight was 115, I'm 5'7 so I was pretty thin and only gained 23 pounds my entire pregnancy. Some of us just carry it well? I don't know.. I wouldn't even entertain people who ask nosy questions, it's not their business.
I'm 21 and look like I'm maybe 16 or 17 without makeup, and when I'd go shopping with my mother, people looked at me like I was some stupid knocked up teenager. It got pretty annoying, but it is what it is. I can't say I ever got used to the looks..
Just keep your head up. You can't change people.

well im younger , im 16 , & 28 weeks and also get the whole baby is having a baby comment and peopl telling me im to small to be so far along , but the truth is we should ignore things like that because getting mad over it or stressing about it wont do us any good at all , i understand we are hormonal , emotional and all but our babies are worth the struggle . my family at first hated my borfriend and hated the fact he is the father of my baby boyy , but now as time has passed by they have learned to keep their mouth shut and accept it , must stay strong in order for them to see that we can do this with or without them

Ignoring it is the most mature thing you can do.
Giving dirty looks back or making comments or being rude because someone is rude of you is immature and kind of proves their point, you know? IMO.
It's a good idea to ignore it!
Good attitude, mama.

My sister in law never even needed maternity clothes during her last pregnancy.... I so hate her! haha I'm 27 weeks and everyone asks "any down now?" or "twins?!!"
