Do you have an Aldi's near you?
That's where DH usually does the shopping, lots of great cheap stuff there (and if you don't like something you can return it).

That's awesome! OP do you have a pinterest? If you do search chicken, there is a TON of different yummy recipes.

-Spaghetti with sauce and froz/canned veggies
-Chicken Legs/hindquarters baked with veggies/fruit
-Use what's left of Chicken legs/hindquarters boil into a broth...debone and make chicken soup with homemade noodles (if you have eggs and flour this is very cheap)

-Chili and cornbread
-Meatloaf
-Chicken parmesean
-Chicken tettrazini
-Chicken and rice
-Chicken and stuffing

Hope that helps some.

Beans, rice, cheese, tortillas. Burritos and variations of them. Add in veggies or meat
Mac and cheese then mix in a meat or veggie
We do a lot of fish tacos because our store often has frozen fish sticks on sale
Frozen pizzas only when they are on sale and we have a coupon. (though they are great to stock up on too for lazy nights or just to have)
Salad, a head of lettuce here is $0.99 and get toppings for it to make it more filling.
We used to do a lot of chicken until we got sick of it so are taking a break. Chicken soup, baked chicken, BBQ chicken, and any other variation.

There are a lot of coupon sites online you can use. Also if there is a Vons, sign up for the just4u program. We save so much using that and coupons. That is how we plan our meals most weeks.

We try to keep our shopping under $75/week for 4 of us (well three since one is nursing).

i do have pinterest! i didn't realize you could search for specific things, though. i'm thinking this paycheck we're going to have alot of spaghetti and baked chicken... i need to come up with some new ideas though. it seems like we're eating the same stuff over and over

It really is!
Everything guaranteed.

Their Light and Fit brand has really nummy stuff, I think we've only returned something once or twice. And I've found waaaaaaaaaay more expired food at Krogers than Aldi's (though I still usually go to Krogers if I'm doing the shopping, I just everything, lol. No more moldy fruit for me! haha).

Make sure you bring a quarter for the cart! lol You get it back when you put the cart back though.

And if you have reusable grocery bags (or any grocery bags) make sure you bring em. They're like 10cents each I think (though we have quite a few of the Aldi's reusable bags, I think they're like $2 and they're HUGE. They hold a lot. We use em for laundry and stuff too, lol).

we shopped at aldi's all the time when i was younger. there was one really close to my house. i had some re-usable grocery bags somewhere but i have no idea where they are anymore.
there are some good ideas for meals too... i need to make a list.
