Yeah it appears they don't take it. And that's been my biggest issue. Trying to find a doc up here that takes it rather than having to drive an hour or more for a well check up. It does say that list is updated as of 2010 and to call for the updated list of insurances, though. Lazy much?

I'm sorry hun.   I don't know if it will do much but have you tried a stress ball? He can bring it around with him and when ever he starts to get stressed/mad he can sit there and squeeze it as hard as he wants to. It may not actually solve the problem but may be a way that he can avert his anger from hitting another person and getting into trouble?

That's actually a really great idea. They've implemented a sign system where he can pick up a small stop sign to alert the teachers that he's ready to blow, but what good is that on the playground or in specials? I'll have to see what I can find that might fit in his pockets.

Go try walgreens. They usually have little balls for stress. I liked them. They were something for me to concentrate on when I was eager or bored and anxious.

I would consider takin him to another pedi, a friend of mines son is exactly like this and he has a form of austism. Councling, and a doctor giving them a special list of ways to handle him has really helped to improve his behavior.

I didn't read thru all the posts, but have you taken him to a therapist? He could have some behavioral disorder that you are unaware of. The first thing that comes to mind is Aspergers because of the behavior you listed and that he's very smart. I have my bachelors in psych and have worked with autistic children, so that is why I mention it and was wondering if you have ever looked into that. How are his social skills? My stepson who is now 12, was diagnosed around 5-6 yrs old and he portrays a lot of the things you mentioned, along with he is very smart (does bad in school b/c he can get lazy, but above average on state tests), but has zero social skills. It's a process. We lecture him constantly and talk him thru everything. I hope things get better for you. It can be very frustrating whether its something as simple as his diet/allergies or something else. Good luck!

He's considered too young by Fulton County to be evaluated by a psychologist, but that was last year. I mentioned before I think at 6 or 8, they'll evaluate him. I'm a single mother and he's on Medicaid. We live with my parents who live in a rich area of town, so not a lot of docs around here take Medicaid. But I think he's old enough for the school psych eval now.
