Pregnancy ISSUE ((tmi))

So I'm 15 weeks preggo today. For the last 4 days, my vajay jay has been itching ungodly and is swollen...like it is irritated by something as simple as sitting down. I THINK this is a yeast infection. I do not have a Dr. and therefore am turning to mommies/pregnant ladies on here for advice if they've been in the same situation. Should I try Monistat? I read that it's ok for preggies...help!!

Sounds like a yeast infection. I'm not sure if there are certain things you shouldn't use while pregnant but monistat does work. Just make sure you read up on if its okay to use

UGh I am pretty sure you can't do monistat. You have to take an medication by mouth. I had my first yeast infection while pregnant not to long ago. They gave me a pill. But you can try tons of yogurt and cranberry juice in case it is UTI

if it burns when you pee, it's probably a UTI

  thats what i was wondering. lol OP, you dont even have a family doctor you can go see or a clinic around town to make an appointment at?

My dr said monistat seven day kind. I had to use it at the beginning of my preg.

that's what i read on google lol i think ill try it then...do u know what the difference is between a UTI and a yeast infection? I know UTIs burn when u pee and yeast infections itch really bad so i ASSUME it's a yeast infection....

I had to use Monistt at the beginning of my pregnancy, it can't hurt. However if it is a yeast infection and it goes untreated it could hurt the fetus, so if you think it's one treat it asap.

You can't get state insurance like medicaid? I didn't have insurance either but when I got pregnant I got it immediately. Don't they have a planned parenthood where you live? You need to get prenatal care, not to mention you should never take anything while pregnant without consulting your doc. I had a yeast infection a few months in and had to use something like monostat but it was prescription. My OB would not prescribe me that pill because sometimes it causes you to shed too much of the skin cells and lining. Go to Planned Parenthood or google clinics for people without insurance and call. You should be able to get some type of pregnancy insurance even if you have a decent income. Good luck!
