Micro preemies and Development

posted 5th Oct
My son was born at 25 weeks and is now almost 11 months old (7 months corrected) and I am just concerned with his development. He seems to be stuck in the same area. He hates to lay on his belly or sit up (even though the therapists say that is all he should be doing). I just wonder if he is ever going to do normal things??? I am getting pretty depressed about this. He just lays on the floor and screams because he wants to do so much more! Help!!

I would be happy the baby is out of the hospital, don't get too worried...He is only 11 weeks old and a micro preemie, it's amazing that he is home.

I'm assuming he is home since you have him on the floor...

A friend of mine has a son who was born at barely 23 weeks. It just seems to take him much longer to progress from one milestone to another. But he does learn new things. He just turned 2 and just learned to pull up.

Just take it slow mama. Your little guy has obviously come a long way already. It just might take him a while to play catch up.

Haha!! Totally missed that, I should really get some rest

OP ignore my other response but just know that a preemie can take longer to do certain things. In my son's daycare there was a little boy his age but much smaller in size, that was the only difference, he was very smart and was able to do almost everything other kids his age were doing. Your baby will get there eventually.
