That is not what we are saying. We are talking about the parents who are PAYING the child support, not those who are RECEIVING.

It is a formula based on both parents incomes. The biological parents only. Perhaps your mom paid it because your father didnt have the money, but her income was not used in the formula to determine how much needed to be paid.

Her post makes no sense to me. From the title i thought she was talking about HER ex but then it has (son and ex). apparently she was talking about her husbands ex & his kid but then at the end she puts Anyone hate their exs kids??? which does not make sense.. Idk

The step parents' income is not used to determine CS amounts. This is correct. However, when you marry someone, what's yours is his and what's his is yours. Including his debts and financial obligations. That means if you married your SO and he lost his job and the CS payments stopped, legally they can start garnishing your wages for it.

I believe in california only if you file taxes together. Because when I went to court for my daughter years ago they didn't ask for her "fathers" wife's income because they file separately. But I'm assuming thats why because he asked him if they filed together or separately.

I'd file together i need to proved im not a depend for school if i have kids they will not use my moms income if i didnt they would. Right now im waiting to go back to court for another debit yep oh well they will be waiting a wile for payment.
