Quoting KNZ.:" So, (i'm asking in all seriousness) are you going to teach her to call it her "vulva" then? "

Yes, we'll say vulva. I will also explain (in 4 year old terms) what her vagina is. Ever one else is running around saying vagina - I don't want her to be confused.

I'm interested in hearing how you're going to explain what the vagina is in 4-year old terms (seriously) lol. In my opinion, all of that isn't necessary at 4 years old, but I get where you're coming from, I suppose.

I plan to call them her privates... And as far as learning anatomy, she will be told that it is a vagina.

Goudy is awful. Tell your SO that boys are going to think she has goodies and she's going to get her self into trouble. Dads don't want boys going after their daughters, lol. Maybe that'll help him find a new term.

my DD is almost 9. she's known since she was 5 that its called a vagina. however, she chooses to call it her 'privates' or 'private parts'

just like my boys, they know theirs is called penis, but the older one calls it his privates, my youngest calls it his weinie

At four years old, to teach the difference between "vulva" and "vagina," and what the vagina actually is -- in my opinion, is not necessary. Not saying there's anything wrong with it.

I think it's unnecessary at four years old.

okay. I don't. It's very beneficial for them to know the names of the parts of their body.
