Girl Who Strangled Newborn....

So how do you think this girl should be charged? Do you think that it is mostly her parent's fault for this happening? Do you feel bad for the girl? Do you even think she should go to prison??

Here is my opinion on it: I think that regardless of being only 14 years old, she knew what she was doing (unless she has SERIOUS mental issues), and she knew she was going to murder the baby. I really don't feel sorry for her in that regard. I do feel bad that her family decided to be in denial about it and not take action to see if she was really pregnant or not. I wouldn't care if my daughter took two pregnancy tests and showed me they were negative. As a parent, I am not going to put my full trust in her for a matter that serious. I would want to monitor her doing it to make sure she was following the directions correctly so she could get an accurate reading. And I'm sorry, but if my FOURTEEN year old daughter was coming to me showing me pregnancy tests, I would know that she was obviously sexually active, and regardless of the negative results, I would take her to a doctor anyways to have her tested there and then depending on the results, either put her on BC or handle the pregnancy and discuss options. I feel as if her mother partially set her up to make the decision she made, and she should be charged too. Plus another article said two of the girl's aunts were suspicious. Where was this child's family? And as a parent, wouldn't you think you would definitely notice if your daughter was acting differently, started wearing baggy clothes, etc??? I mean come on!!! That's what pisses me off the most. I think the girl should get some psychological help first and foremost and then yes, jailtime. Lots of it. However I don't know if I think she should be charged as an adult. I think she needs to be psychologically evaluated first.

it was a smurfing 9 1/2 pound baby! it's not like this girl was starving herself and the kid, and even in sweatshirts, i look pregnant. how can they not know? she was a tiny girl, i'm sure she popped out like a MF lol

she should get the heaviest sentencing there is. she KNEW what she was doing (already had psych testing done) and she just didn't care.

people who kill children are sick, and yes sick disgusting, but i imean sick as in mentally.

This is a really unfortunate situation.

Did she know she murdered her baby? Yes. However, she is a child herself. Let's not forget here that grown women do the same thing. It's possible to momentarily lose touch with reality and do the extreme. I hope she gets the mental evaluation she so badly needs.

I think she should b charged as an adult. She knew what she was doing. Brat deserves what is coming to her. Maybe even more

My Cousin stands about 5'2 and doesn't even weigh 100 lbs. She concealed her pregnancy the entire time. I mean, if you're going to touch on anything in this article, at least talk about what's relevant. You do not know this girl or what she was capable of doing in terms of hiding her belly.

How big was your cousin's baby?

Regardless, it said she started wearing baggy clothes....as a parent I would definitely suspect something if my daughter began wearing clothes she didnt normally wear. Plus her daughter showed her pregnancy tests and it doesn't sound like the mom cared enough to do smurf about it.

i did address what's relevant. she should receive the highest penalty there is. she KNEW what she was doing. she showed "little emotion" in questioning. she didn't want to "mess up her family" - she had plenty of opportunities to tell her mother, a friend at school knew and "kept it a secret but it's not a secret now" - it's smurfing sick.

Does this not scream insane to you? Or......mentally not OK? Unless she's a sociopath, not showing emotion is a huge red flag that the light just isn't turning on up there. I guess all of this will come out in the wash soon enough after she's thoroughly evaluated.

the pregnancy tests weren't even negative. they were blank, invalid..

It's a horrible situation for everyone involved but a 14 year old is a child and the crime she committed does not change that. She should be charged as a child.
