gender?

Was anybody told they were having one gender and ended up with the opposite?

I had a friend who was told with both her pregnancies it was a girl, and it ended up being boys. She waited the 20 weeks to find out too. But I hear that's more common then being told its a boy and ended up being a girl.

Only with my first.. I didn't know I was pregnant with him until I was almost 4 months pregnant already (irregular periods and lots of partying).. so the first ultrasound that they do to determine gestational age was a little after 16 weeks.. and at that time, they could "maybe" tell.. and based on what they saw, they thought he might be a girl..

About a month or two later, they did the second ultrasound, and it was super obvious that he was a boy. So, I didn't go through the whole pregnancy thinking it was a girl.. just a month or two.. lol.. Then at that next ultrasound, every time the tech tried to measure anything.. his head, his abdomen, anything, he'd flip around and show us his balls again. lmao. (he was pretty pissed off about being called a girl I think.  )

What a crazy surprise that would be, i'm sure they are right that i'm having a boy, the ultrasound looked pretty legit and they checked at fifteen Weeks and again at 21, but wow its a lot more common than I thought!

I think it depends on when you get the u/s, the position of the baby, the quality of the u/s, and how clear the image is.. because with all of mine.. there was absolutely no doubt..

With my son, there was doubt at the first u/s because it was too early.. but at the second u/s.. there's no way in hell that was a girl.. girls don't have penises and it was extremely clear that he did.. lol.. absolutely 100% sure

With my last one and this one, the vajayjay was very very easy to see and identify.. just as clear as my son's genitalia had been... 100% certain.. not a fraction of a doubt..

I can't imagine going the whole pregnancy not knowing! It would make me crazy. One of my biggest fears each time was that they wouldn't be able to tell me for sure.. like it would be a bad position or something.. unable to get a clear image and only give me a guesstimate.. lol..

When they say boy they are pretty certain it is a boy - when they say girl there is a chance that it is actually a boy

I was worried about this as I heard it could happen. Had a scan at 20 weeks told we were having a boy, booked for a 4d scan at 26 weeks and had it double checked.
