Pre-Eclampsia

So I'm 40 weeks now as of about 2 hours ago. I can't wait till my baby girl makes her big entrance. But anyways, yesterday, my little brother who just came into town jumped on my stomach real hard and we thought it broke my water. So we went to the hospital, and it turns out he didn't, but whenever they tested my pee they said I had protein in it, and that combined with the high blood pressure I had (I never have high blood pressure, it was just bcuz I was scared, but they dont believe me) meant that I could possibly have Pre-Eclampsia. So now they are making me collect my urine for 24 hours, and I have to take it up to the lab in the morning. So my question is, first, has anybody on here gone thru this and what happened? And second, when I've been collecting my urine (TMI) I've noticed little white thingies floating around in my pee. Does anybody know what this is??

I went through the exact same thing. But I was 34 weeks when I got it and delivered at 36. Anyway, it can be scary but at least you made it to your due date and you won't have to worry about baby being early. If it gets too bad they will induce you (if you don't go on your own) and you'll have to be on Magnesium to keep your BP down. It sucks!! It makes you sick and shaky and you won't be able to get out of bed what so ever. As for the white things I have no clue. Maybe discharge?

Well, it doesn't look like discharge. That was what I thought at first too. Its not thick or anything, it actually looks just like these really thin white floaty thingies. Ugh I know that doesn't help at all, but I don't know how to describe it. My mom told me it could be protein or just bacteria or something, but i think its weird..

I think I know what you mean. I see that sometimes too, even now. It may just be bacteria or kind of a mixture of both. I honestly wouldn't worry about it. If it concerns you too much though, just ask your Dr. I don't think it has anything to do with Pre E but then again it could be the protein. I just don't know if it's actually visible or not?

I have no idea... I guess I'll just find out after I turn it in to the lab tomorrow. The doctor up there said that if it comes back with more protein, they'll probably go ahead and induce me, or at least consider it since I'm already 40 weeks anyways...

I never had Bp issues either until I got pregnant and then at 37 weeks I went to the hospital because my bp was very high. They sent me home with a 24 hour collection too. And I was having white things in my urine as well. It looked like little mucus things. And my pee smelled like popcorn. Very weird. Long story short took it back and they tested it and had me wait. They came in .and told me I have protein on my urine and they would be inducing me. So sounds like you developed it and I wouldn't be suprised if they induce you tomorrow when the results comr back. My induction didn't work and had to have a c section. And I was put on magnesium as well afterwards and couldnt get out of bed for a whole 24 hours after my section. I really hope you don't have to go through that! Keep us updated and best.of luck!!!!

Could is possibly be just TP (Toilet Paper) remnants from wiping?

Mine smelled like popcorn too!! Good to know that was the reason why haha.

Is it dark too? Your pee I mean. Mine started out light and then got dark, smelled like popcorn and then had the white things in it. I was drinking a ton of water and it still didn't lighten up. Good thing is you are 40 weeks! I would just say from my experience and you having the same exact issue you probably have it.   I wasnt expecting to have her 3 weeks early. She was due on the 2nd of this month. Keep me updated!

See, the whole c-section thing is what I'm scared of. I heard there's more of a chance that it'll have to be a c-section when you have to be induced...

Nope, its not TP bcuz I've actually been standing up to wipe so I wouldn't get TP in it. I thought that too at first, which is why I started wiping after I got up, but it's still there.

Yes it is pretty dark, but thats probably bcuz I dnt drink as much water as I should..... And I haven't smelled my pee so Idk if it smells like popcorn lmfao. I have allergies really bad right now, so I cant smell anything even if I tried lol

The white bits are the protein, I had that a few times in my pregnancy but always dissapeared on its own
