Legal sleeping arrangement rules for NYS

Somebody told me that if CPS were to enter my home I see that my 7 month old is cosleeping with me (single mom), that it would be a problem because he is a boy...or rather, it will be a problem when he gets older....I am googling this information but so far, all I see is that these laws only apply to foster care....anyone have any information about this?

Ugh people are stupid. Some girl I know told me that I could get cps called on me for cosleeping w my baby. That's now true at all. But I have a daughter. Not sure if its diff w a boy but I don't see what the problem would be. It's not like he's 12

I'm almost positive no one can tell me how to work the sleeping arrangements in my own home. Unless CPS wants to pay for my two bedroom, I don't see how they can call the shots on that one...1200 a month in rent on Long Island...but I still need to know for certain.

I've been ld that here once a girl turn 5 she has to have her own room. Or share a room with a female sibling. I don't know how true that is though.

Yeah long islands mad expensive to live lol. I would just call cps myself and ask. I have friends that cosleep w their baby boys. Tons of people do. How would cps know anyway

Ur fine i have a 5 year old son that sleeps in my bed weather i want him there or not lol now when he gets older ull want him to have his own bed of course my son does he jus choses to crash in mine he's a mommys boy

I've had people tell me that my kids aren't allowed to share a room because they're not the same sex. I say, unless you're paying my rent, don't worry about where my kids sleep.

My cousin's ex wasn't allowed to have his children over at their house when it was his weekend with them, because her house was only a 2 bedroom & the boy & girl had to share a room there. I didn't really understand why it would matter, as they were only there every other weekend, but he had paperwork stating that. He would have to rent a room in a motel just to get his weekend visitations.

sounds like his x was a bitch. i know that with visitation or section 8 you have to follow rules but otherwise i dont think so. its my child i will sleep or bath with him or her until one of us gets uncomfortable

Here if ur co sleeping u can get ur kid taken away.... Yes they check to make sure they have a safe place to sleep i had to prove my son had a crib for him to sleep in when i got them called on me for a diaper rash.

In some places CPA does require the child to have their own sleeping area

I've had CPS called on me for multiple things, every visit they would talk about co-sleeping & why it's not allowed.. something to do with the percentage of deaths caused by co-sleeping. They always wanted to check his crib to make sure there wasn't any blankets, pillows, etc to cause suffocation.
