Can hives be from stress?

Okay, well long story short, I have EXTREME Social anxiety, Like. thinking about being in a busy restaurant or anything gets my anxiety going. Well Last saturday Was my wedding day, I was freaking out about the wedding yet alone thinking about people hugging me and looking at me all day. Well as i was getting ready, my legs were covered in hives, it itched terribly. Then went away after i took a benadryl. Then yesterday we had waited in a really busy AT&T store and it wasa PACKED. Like so many people, and my anxiety was getting kinda bad. SO I told DH that I was going to get a breather. So i went outside and my legs were UNCONTROLLABLY itchy. And there were hives up my shins and calves.. Is it a coincidence? Or is my stress really causing this? What can I use to relieve the itch also?

Yes stress can do a lot of strange things to your body. My best friends get hives all over her neck and chest when she's nervous or anxious. As for the itching I'm not sure what can help other than benedryl or some sort of itching cream.

I get hives if i am nervous anxious or stressed. I have been that way since I was a young child. Kind of sucks when you want people to think your alright but if people know me well enough they know by looking if i a lying. I get them on my face neck and chest.

I also have severe social anxiety. Last Sunday we went to the grocery store and it was pay day the next day so it was packed. We ended up having to leave a half full cart because I just could not handle it anymore. Walking out I was in tears and covered in hives.

sounds like me. The hives JSUT started happening recently. BUt ive gone through trauma, and my social anxiety has been this way for a few years. Cant go to get togethers without freaking out.
