Hey, if you need it then you need it. I'd look down on bad fashion sense before I looked down on food stamps. Kidding.

I think everyone should strive to better their situation, and I believe that most people want to. However it is the welfare receiving people who brag about it etc that do give everyone else a bad name. One bad apple and all that.

Example about all this assistance.
Girl i went to high school with 19 yrs old with 3 kids. She says she gets 700 dollars in foodstamps every month. Not even half way through the month she cries and complains shes out of foodstamps. I mean really come on. Your kids are 3,2 and 6 months. They do not eat that many groceries. Her 800 dollar rent is paid for by dchs which is douglas county housing services. Plus she gets medicaid or medicare for all for of them. The government will also pay for her childrens daycare and she sits at home not doing smurf. No job and not going to school. Then she also gets a check for 500 something from the government and child support for one child. She couldnt even pay her electric bill because she wastes her money on bullsmurf, instead of getting furniture for her apartment or a reliable vehicle.
Those are the people i cannot stand that get assistance.

.....that's what I was wondering. I hate that argument of what someone was buying or wearing when they bought it. They don't know if money was given to them or that purse she's carrying is a hand me down.

If you've got more than one kid, sometimes it's a lot cheaper to be a SAHM. Even in some places with just one. Daycare is about 500 a month here, I couldn't imagine both parents working with two or more kids. It's not worth it.

That's cheap! It's a least 900$ a child a month here.

No I haven't. We don't normally and have never needed them before but DH is going to be off work for 3 months and while he is trying to find work, we need them

There was no part of being proud we cannot fully 100 percent support this family. We make very little money, and when we did have a better income..we moved out, not thinking that one of us could possibly be without a job. Like I said, I just got out of this argument..I do not understand some peoples train of thought.

Being proud and not being ashamed are two totally different things.

You're doing what you need to for your child. Don't let anyone give you smurf for needing help.

I know. I know my mother buys me nice hings out of love, it doesn't mean I'm all the sudden loaded.

Yeah. I got dirty looks at the WIC office for pulling out my huge ass smart phone. Bigger than the iphone. But my FIL pays the bill and I got it with my upgrade.

It is in poor taste to make a statement like that, though. It isn't my business or anyone else's business what your financial affairs consist of. I'm sure it is a defense mechansim from the negative view many people have about gov't assistance, but don't worry about it!If you need the help, you need it.
No one really knows another person's situation unless they live with them & see everything.

Lol I just got the iphone 4!! I paid a whole DOLLAR for it   I totally broke the bank. lol
