lightheaded, blacking out...

Have any of you ever experienced this while showering when pregnant? Idk why and I have never mentioned it to the dr, I will now though, but everytime I take a shower, im ok for the first 5-10 minutes of it and then I get really dizzy and light headed and start blacking out. I normally just sit down and call for my daughter to come bring me a towel and then crawl into bed, unless of course DH is home from work! I used to think it was just a normal pregnancy symptom because it has happened everytime i get pregnant. ANy advice, input? Also I do not take very hot showers they are warm but not enough even to cause much steam.

That happens to me when I shower too... I think it's the steam/heat... I stick to baths now.

I've had similar experiences with this pregnancy. I also get super nauseated if I'm in there for too long. Usually I turn the water to cold until I'm finished and then lay on my bed under the fan for a few minutes, which seems to help. It's weird.

I wish I could do a bath but I get UTIs to easy! Everytime i just get int he tub to relax or soak...the next day my vag is on freaking fire...soap or no soap lol!

My sister would faint when she was pregnant are you standing up or getting around to quickly

Try cold showers... it may sucks but better than passing out lol

my brother had this happen and the doctor said the body went into shock for some reason.

Your BP rises when you get in the shower especially when you are pregnant. Try showering with cooler water - don't bend over and stand up too quickly and turn off the water but stay in the shower for a minute or so before you get out. Also drinking a large glass of water before getting into the shower helps. Just try and do everything in the shower nice and slowly or you will feel faint - I get this a lot.
Do mention it to your DR!

It actually drops. The heat makes the vessels expand. OP, I like to take a shower laying down because of the same reason.

I blacked out in the shower at 20 weeks and ended up falling...doctor told me it was bp and to try cooler showers since hot water can mess with you bp. I took a luke warm bath from then on out until about 2 weeks ago because now I feel too big and uncomfy in the tub lol so now i shower in luke warm water
