Any tips?

posted 4th Oct
I'm kind of scared to start losing weight. What if I fail? I have issues committing to anything- I'll do some crunches, say "I'll do more every day!" then just never do them again.

I'm 149lbs right now... And I'm 5'2! I'm just too darn heavy. I'm getting married next year and I want to look good, not like some piggy!

Where do I start? What do I do?

I need tips, advice, inspiration, anything!

I make a schedule on a poster board and just go with that and put it where I see it everyday. Then reward myself with new perfume or whatever if I make it through a week etc.

Well, there's motivation for you. You're getting married and you want to look your best on your big day! Keep that in mind when you don't feel like exercising. First things first is to drink water. Lots of water. Cut out the soda, coffee and sugary juices. You can even enjoy a green smoothie or look into vegetable and fruit juicing.

They have some good home work out videos. I hear a lot of good things about 30 Day Shred. So basically watch what you eat, drink water and exercise. Sign up for myfitnesspal.

I'm 5'2 also (well, a little under, haha). Personally weight watchers has been working for me really well! Also, I just try to increase my movement to start with. I park further away, take the kids on walks, climb more stairs, things like that. I also add in some work out videos when I feel up to it.

I'm still bigger the you are, but I've lost about 20lbs and feel great!

Also, track everything you eat. Part of what this does is stop mindless eating. "Write it if you bite it" is what I'm always told. If I have to write down every bite I take I stop grazing. I stop just mindlessly putting food into my mouth. My only exception are grapes. I keep them out to handle my snacky urge, haha. I track that I ate them, but since they're 0 points I don't calculate how much.
