Baby dropping, How much time passed for you?

posted 4th Oct
Ok so ultrasound tech confirmed in week 27 that he was pretty much engaged; however, it wasn't noticeable that he had dropped.... UNTIL THIS MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!! Baby boy is now sitting so low that my maternity shirt bands can't hook under him anymore. I took a picture of my stomach and sent it to my sister and SO and both said he's definitely WAAAAAY lower than he was. I want to get an estimate of how much longer I may have. I know all babies are different but can anyone tell me how much time passed between baby fully engaging and labor for them????

I dropped at 34 weeks, was dilated to a 2 and 75% effaced until I went into labor at 40 weeks- 5 days, after having a membrane sweep.

The same day someone made the comment that I looked like I dropped my water broke. I was 36 weeks.

I'm 36 weeks and I believe I am dropping but my midwife hasn't been telling me anything or answering any of my questions. It's felt like mine has been dropping for a little over a week now.

My doctor is weird like that too. She argues with the ultrasound tech that he wasn't sitting that low at 27 weeks when they were checking my cervix. His head was pressed tightly to it though. But because he was stretched out she didn't believe he was really that low.

You can't engage without having already dropped so you're baby has probably just engaged and only dropped before. For me labour started right after my babies engaged ( or during labour with my third), with my first that was at 29 weeks but they managed to keep him in till term and he stayed put till 39 weeks. With my second she dropped at 34 weeks and went back up when they stopped my labour, dropped again at 37 weeks but labour stopped on its own and she went back up. She dropped and engaged a final time at 38 weeks and was born a day later
