Child Support Question
posted 4th Oct
Do they automatically take it out of the check or do I have to enforce it for them to do that?

When DH started paying child support he told the judge he wanted it taken out of his check. They sent a letter to his employer and they started taking it. Makes it much easier IMO.

Nope, not unless either the father approves it, or he gets so far behind that the court orders it

No, once you've filed for child support, they meet with the father to discuss his income and what his payments will be. He can then choose if he wants it taken out or they will give him the chance to make his payments by a certain date. If he falls behind, they will contact his employer and just have it taken out.
