Quoting SulleyNZ:" If those complications aren't an issue (and i still don't know exactly what they are or what causes them, ... [snip!] ... i want a natural drug free birth because i feel it's best for baby. but again, i'll do whats required to get jim out safely"This is the reason I decided to have a home birth VBAC this time around... So I won't be pressured into unnecessary medical interventions that are just part of protocol to speed labor.. So I won't be told I can 'try' to have a vaginal birth, but it would most likely end up in a repeat section because of liability reasons... So I won't be offered any pain medication whatsoever when I know I don't want that, but I'm at my most vulnerable.. So if something does go wrong, I can make an informed decision to be transferred to the hospital if medical intervention does become absolutely necessary.. So I won't be at risk of my baby being under distress from pitocin, water being broken, and under harm from forceps or vacuum, or drugs that I don't want.. So I don't have to risk my life and the life of my baby by having a c-section or risk any health problems that come with it.. So I can take a more all natural approach to birthing my baby without an episiotomy, be the first to hold her & nurse her as soon as she comes out, decide to wait until the cord stops pulsating to cut it.

Quoting ashley noel [35 weeks!]:" I'm sure any mother is willing to accept medical intervention if their life or their baby's depends ... [snip!] ... to a assume that women who desire a natural birth WOULDN'T choose a different route if it meant their health or their baby's."Very well said!
