This is the reason I decided to have a home birth VBAC this time around... So I won't be pressured into unnecessary medical interventions that are just part of protocol to speed labor.. So I won't be told I can 'try' to have a vaginal birth, but it would most likely end up in a repeat section because of liability reasons... So I won't be offered any pain medication whatsoever when I know I don't want that, but I'm at my most vulnerable.. So if something does go wrong, I can make an informed decision to be transferred to the hospital if medical intervention does become absolutely necessary.. So I won't be at risk of my baby being under distress from pitocin, water being broken, and under harm from forceps or vacuum, or drugs that I don't want.. So I don't have to risk my life and the life of my baby by having a c-section or risk any health problems that come with it.. So I can take a more all natural approach to birthing my baby without an episiotomy, be the first to hold her & nurse her as soon as she comes out, decide to wait until the cord stops pulsating to cut it.
There's so many women out there these days that are told they can't dilate properly, have too small of a pelvis, can't birth a large baby.. all when they aren't even given the chance. I wish so much that all pregnant women out there would take the time to read about the whole labor and birth process, and the interventions including the effects of them -good or bad. To do Personal research, and not just listen to everything you're told by medical professionals without question.

Very well said!
