How did you feel 6 weeks post partum?

posted 4th Oct
So December is coming up, and the time we would usually go on holiday I will be 6 weeks post partum. How did you feel physically and emotionally 6 weeks after a natural birth? And how much of your body has returned to normal?

I felt pretty good at 6 weeks PP. My body still needed a lot of work, though. It took 10 months of eating right and exercising to whip myself back into shape. With my belly band, though, I looked pretty fantastic. It helped pull everything in a little tighter

I felt normal the day after giving birth, my bleeding stopped by 4 weeks, but I did get my first PP period at 6 weeks. But my period was nothing compared to my pre-pregnancy ones. During labor I did have dangerously high blood pressure with a pressured c-section. (ended up getting the epi so I could avoid the c-section.) I'm sure you'll be fine, as long as you have a non-complicated birth.

Oh and my body went right back to normal. Lost 40lbs and I think I looked better post partum then pre-pregnancy,

Just about healed up at 6 weeks and had stopped bleeding. Although still felt a bit 'fragile' lol.

my body was back to normal within 3 weeks of having LO thanks to breastfeeding. but at 6 weeks pp i felt physically and emotionally drained, but i did have an extremely difficult, high needs LO, i have only recently started feeling back to normal at 5 months pp because he is now on meds.

My body seemed pretty healed after 4-5 weeks. It wasn't until I had sex that I could feel a little soreness still. It wasn't awful and it didn't stop us but, I could feel it, KWIM?

I felt fine though...exhausted but, fine.

I'm 5 weeks PP from a csection and I feel awesome. I've lost 30 lbs and am almost down to PP weight. I'm a little tired from adjusting to life with a newborn, but besides that, I'm great.

I felt wonderful the moment Liam was out and was on a natural high for the next 3 days straight with energy bustin' out of me, then came down to earth again, mellowed out, and have been great ever since. No physical pain or emotional troubles. Was back in most of my pre-pregnancy clothes within two weeks after delivering, but didn't reach pre-pregnancy weight until 4 months PP.

So you think I'd be able to enjoy a holiday 6 weeks pp with adjusting to my first baby and breastfeeding?

Yea it only took me and DS a couple of weeks to get used to breastfeeding, at 6 weeks it was so natural and easy. Plus by then I was confident enough with BF to just flop my boob out in public when he needed to eat.

Jealous! My hips are too big for any of my PP jeans!!

I don't think I'll ever fit in them again.

Body changes suck. I know my hips widened a bit, but not a whole lot. I can't fit into all my jeans though - at least, not how I did before.
