My MIL

I see all kinds of posts about people's MIL's and their bad experiences with them. Well, today I feel like just showing mine a little love. She drives me crazy sometimes by giving DD candy and junk but she's grandma.

When DD was born, I stayed home with her until 12 weeks when I went back to work working 56 hours a week. My MIL works third shift but worked her work schedule around mine so that she could be available to watch DD.

I have never had to send money for her when they take her places or take extra clothes when she spends the night over there. The most I have ever had to do is send her diapers and medicines when she was younger.

Now that I am a SAHM but am a college student, every quarter she asks if my school schedule has changed so she can work her schedule around it to watch DD. If they take trips to WV (where DH is from) and they get to take her, I never have to send any money or anything. They are amazing with her. It's like their whole lives revolve around helping DH and I get through school and spending as much time with their granddaughter as possible.

Since she was a couple of months old, DH and I get Fridays every week all to ourselves as DD spends the night with them. On Saturdays before she comes home, they take her to ride horses, museums, parks, etc. My MIL is just such a positive person in my daughter's life and I am so grateful for her. I never have to worry about paying a babysitter so I can get a break. They are delighted just to have her so I can get a couple of hours to do whatever I need.

Your MIL sounds like an amazing woman.
My MIL was awesome, until DD was born. Herself and her husband have chose to drink rather than be in their grand children's lives for more than 5 seconds.
I'm very, very happy for you to have such a positive woman in your life.

She really is wonderful. We were just talking on FB and she was telling me how proud she is of my weight loss. It's nice because I don't have any parents and DH's family has just taken me in as their own.

Thats awesome you are so lucky!! I'm pregnant, and last time I saw my MIL she leaned down to my stomach and said "sit down and shut up!" like demonstrating that she would be talking like that to my son... Oooooh uh uh. And my hubby wonders why I never want to go over there. Her and I have very different views about how to raise a child. Good thing I'm the Momma!

She's always telling me how beautiful I am and how lucky her son is, makes me cry a little.

I needs her as my mommy   You are lucky. My mother in law is nice and all but she focus on the negative in her life a LOT. She griped so much when I was there.

You are truly blessed! If wish my MIL had any one of thoes attributes yours does. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and just finished cleaning the bathroom cause MIL just 'missed' the toilet and garbage and threw up over the floor and left it for someone else to clean up. This happens at least once a week cause he won't eat anything except candy and soda.

That's exactly how my MIL is... To her granddaughter. She never sees her 4 grandsons. Congrats on getting a good one!

THAT'S MINE!!! She is an amazing caring woman, will starve to death just to feed someone she loves and give up anything she has no matter how bad she may need it herself... But man is she nutty lol
