how to stop him from rolling over at night ??

posted 3rd Oct
since LO learned to roll, he is constantly doing it. but he doesn't know how to roll back yet. we put him in the upper left hand corner in his crib (we have breathable bumpers) and it stops him from rolling to his right in his sleep. now, he learned to roll onto his left from back to belly. and I'm scared he's going to roll over, not be able to roll back, and not be able to breathe.

what can I do or put in his crib to keep him from rolling on his belly at night until he learns to roll back? I'm so paranoid now I get up numerous times at night just to check he's on his back. I'm so scared he's going to get stuck and suffocate on the mattress.

do they sell things to keep them still through the night? Any suggestions?!

TIA

Nothing, and you shouldnt be anything in there either. At 5 months old she started sleeping on her stomach and I let her be.

Honestly, if he is big enough to roll like that he will be fine.

really? ugh. I'm just so paranoid. I was just wondering if there is a certain type of sleeper to put them in or something. idk there are so many gadgets out there nowadays. he seems to love being on his belly, so maybe I'll give an inch in the morning and just let him be and see what he does. thanks ladies!

Most pedi's recommend letting them roll in their sleep once they've learned how to help shape their head.

You could get an angel care monitor.

most SIDS gadgets are scams.

If he can roll he is fine.

When DD had good head control and could roll on her own I stopped flipping her back over during the night.
She started sleeping on her belly around 4 months old, she's now 9 months old and will not sleep any other way.

DS is 2.5 months. He has reflux and has slept on his belly since day 1. It's the only way he sleeps.

a mat that goes under the sheet of the mattress. Baby lays on that, and it will alert you if baby stops breathing. Not sure how accurate they are tho if baby moves around on it.
