Yeah we have a tiny house.): and I sure hope so too, I know all of my family will come and that's the majority of the list. Ugh, stressful smurf! But we have it all out there now. Blah! Thanks anyway ladies for the opinions and inputs. Much appreciated!

We ended up getting a free room to do it in, I knew a friend that worked at dsnwk, developmental place and she could get it for us. But before that we looked at a rec place here and it was 50.

Sorry to hear that but everything in Indiana is pretty cheap. I have family out there and everything is nice a cheap. Do you live in a bigger city?

Hammond! Right outside of Chicago, il. A lot of things are cheaper here but we can't find a deal on places or things for that matter. We tried and failed miserably as you can see lol. I know it's a lot, hell, they know but if it were up to me completely I'd say eff it and just forget it if my friend can't help like she had promised. There is no reason for your friend to help you. Yes, she said she would. But she can't. No reason to be mad at her. And I find it very hard to beleive you can't do it for less. I mean smurf, the pizza place is $250 for everyone? Add decorations and a cake at $100 and bam, you aren't spending any more money.

Or go traditional and only invite women/girls. Then maybe you could do it at home. Do appetizers, finger foods, drinks, cake. That'd be cost effective.

It is a lot but cut some corners out and if you haven't sent out invitations cut some people out. Do less cake. Good luck

Thank you. <3 I think the baby shower has just become the least of my worries. Bigger problems. It can't possibly be good to cry from 12pm til 6pm and stressing. Lots of bs going on. Thanks girls for all the input.

I have to buy 100% of everything out of pocket for my new baby and I'm pretty sure I won't spend much more than $500. If you are spending that much on a shower, you probably won't even break even with gifts.

That's how I feel. I mean, I'm glad that I'm having one because I want my family and close friends around and a majority is my family so I know they'll pull together to be here regardless. And yeah she for sure copped out, I guess I just feel bad for my mom because she's getting smurf end of the stick but we are managing to get everything and I'm finding cheaper ways now. My fiancée is also helping out without a problem, I can't be grateful enough for this!
