Where do you guys find decorations for a church hall(church was 85) food for 50+ people and the plates, plasticware, cups, drinks etc etc and god forgive me I'd have to look at the list to see what we have. Most of it like I said will be dollar store stuff BUT we still have to buy enough for a lot of guests. The food is gunna cost a good chunk for sure I know that.

Why buy food? Just do cake and punch.

I am just making sandwich trays and finger foods. My food will maybe cost me $30-$40 at the most. I got my plates with pretty colors for a dollar a pack at the dollar tree cups as well...

Nobody with a big enough house and def can't do it in the middle of November in northwest Indiana lol. We tried looking up places. The church was the cheapest.

Scratch almost all of that off the list. Bottled water, cookies, cake, a nice drink. Table cloth a few decorations. Dessert plates, napkins, cups.

You dont have to feed people a meal. Have it after lunch but before dinner. Have a veggie tray, chips dip, cake, and drinks. Punch and water make it real easy. Cancel the church hall and go to a park where its free unless someone is willing to do it in their backyard for you.

You can buy baby bingo at dollar store, print off a questionaire about you and your bd, whoever answers the most wins, I printed off pictures of baby items and used my gifts for a scavenger hunt, etc.. My theme was pink and brown, so all my food was pink and brown. I just did little snacks, like brownies, pretzels, tea, seven up and raspberry ice cream, little hostess cakes, etc. Cheap little items that could be bought in bulk or made but still went with my theme.

I rented mine at the local rec. Other places were at most $50 around here. That is outrageous for renting a room for a few hours.

I mean if she FOR SURE isn't going to do it I'm gunna have to talk to my mom about cutting cost somewhere. Probably the food, my family, especially my hard headed father, insists on feeding and having kick ass parties, I just feel bad cuz I know they'll break the bank for me and I don't want them to. The food idea you said sounds much better. >.<

That just seems so excessive to me especially when you don't have the money. We do all our parties at our house (which isn't huge) and it works just fine. I mean, 50 people is crazy for a baby shower. Hopefully you get a lot of gifts because you could've just spent that money on the baby...

Well unless he is paying for it then he will have to get over it. Plus remember only about maybe 50% of who you invite will show up. I have 40 confirmed for my shower and 25 showed up. That was after 65 invites went out.

!! American legion wanting like 60 an hour for 3 hours PLUS we would've had to of paid 60 for the janitor and 70 for the bartender???? He said its all mandatory I clicked on him LOL. The prices were outrageous nor do I want liquor at a baby shower lol. We'll have to go over our list and try to talk her out of the food. Pork loins shredded for sandwiches and mossacholi* pinwheels.. Then a few others were suppose to bring side dishes if they wanted. .-. We have never done a shower so it's new to us!
