preemie question..

when did your premies start siting up on their own and crawling? my cousins baby was born at 35 weeks weighing 4lbs and is now 8 months and cant sit on her own or crawl yet, what do you guys think , is it because shes a premie or something else might be wrong?

Well every baby is different even if they were premature.But my son sat up at around 5 months and full blown crawled at 8.He was 30 weeks gestation,but if she think something is wrong she should check it out.Wont hurt to be sure.

A preemie born at 24 weeks is different in development than a preemie born at 34 weeks.




Kids develop at rates of their own. 8 months 7 corrected, sitting unassisted is not too crazy.


My son was born at 41 weeks and never crawled, so it's hard to say.



IMO the baby is fine. But who knows? Mother knows best.... Is mom concerned?

Yep, every baby is different. My son was born at 30 weeks and he started sitting at 8 months, 6 months adjusted and started crawling at 10 months, 8 months adjusted.

My friends baby was born at 38 weeks and has absolutely no problems except he liked to observe his surroundings and Didnt start walking until 17 months old.

she was worried because some of her friends have babies that are even younger and already crawling so she was wondering why her baby wasent and thought it was maybe because she was a premie

My ds was born early at 31 weeks 6 days and aint even rollin over or nothin hes 6 months but 4 months corected
