First time going out with Daddy

So today DH took our daughter to walmart with him. She has been begging for him for weeks now because he's been working so much and she's been missing him (which isn't like her really) They have a decent relationship but she just prefers to be with me and DH tends to be more drawn to our son, partly because he's still little and will actually snuggle with him. A lot of it is because DH was deployed the first year of DD's life so they still haven't created that bond he got with our son.
Anywho, They are STILL gone. This is the first time they have ever gone out together to do anything. They have stayed home before but it's rare. DD usually wants to go with me or DH doesn't want to watch her.
I'm so glad they're both finally coming around though. It makes me sad when DD would say things like "Daddy is mean" or "I don't like daddy" Part of it is his own fault for saying crap like that then she picked it up but now she's old enough to know when someone is mean.
They have both been doing so well lately though. She's been more willing to be around him, talk to him or do things with him and he's been so much better about acknowledging her (in a positive way) and acting like he cares.
I was really beginning to wonder what to do with them.
