Birthday Party at Daycare

Do you think it is a good idea to give a birthday party at your child's daycare. My son will be 4 in a few weeks. He is in the pre-K room. Has anyone ever done this?

I usually just bring a cake/cupcakes in & they will have a little celebration

Sending something nut free in (or gluten and egg depending on class allergies) would be perfectly acceptable.

Showing up and throwing a party....not at all.

My sons birthday is this month and I'm just taking in cupcakes for the classroom & teachers, after asking their permission & asking about allergies (bc my son had allergies)

I doubt you can have an actual party there.
I'd just bring cupcakes, juice boxes and maybe some goodie bags.

Actually the daycare does allow parties. They have had them. I just dont remember them for my son's group. But the daycare has no problem with them.

Really??? To me, that seems very unprofessional, especially when a "party" usually involves other family members (of said child). Is everyone bringing in police clearance checks before being included in these parties?

B/c the policy at my children daycare and school, is absolutely NOBODY can spend extended time in the classroom without showing a valid and recent (within 6 months) police check (with the exception of one-on-one parent interviews/checking out the place for the first time) And personally, I am very, very, glad for that. I mean, you don't want to think the worse in others, but I would never allow my children to be in a place where virtually anybody can be around them (just b/c somebody is another parent, doesn't mean they are trustworthy)

Momma it isnt like that I mean just the kids. You the parent may come take pics. Have cake, pizza and sing happy birthday then pass out treat bags. Very basic for a four year old. Not bringing uncles and aunts and a crew.
