A friend of mine wanted me to post on here her concerns with her 3 yr old son. His speech is barely understandable, he's no where near potty trained, he's pigeon toed and does frequent arm flapping. She is starting to get worried now that he's getting older when before she thought most of this would get better. She's worried about Autism. She's also wondering why he would be so infantile at this age....we have other friend's that have 3 year old sons and he is not as advanced as them. I, and she, know that all kids are different but she just wanted opinions since her hubby thinks something is definitely different with their son. TIA.

Her best bet is to just ask the pediatrician. If she's concerned, take him in and they can do an evaluation. Definitely better to get the help sooner rather than later if he needs it. Good luck to her.

She needs to get son's speech evaluated, and for authism maybe talk to her sons pedi.

Pidgeon toed isn't something that is connected to the rest.. I was pidgeon toed so badly that I had to wear leg braces to straighten my feet because I would trip over them while walking/running. She would need to see a foot specialist about this problem to get it evaluated if it's that severe. Leg braces were so not cute for kindergarten!!

I would be concerened as well. I would address it with the pedi ASAP.
