posted 3rd Oct
DS will not do his tummy time. Every time I try, he cries and fusses. Or either falls right asleep.. Help?

Many children hate it. Mine did. Hated it with a PASSION. Have you tried getting down there with him, face to face and hanging out? Sometimes that helps.

Try laying in front of him and playing with him. If that doesn't work, don't do it. If he doesn't like it, why force it?

try laying him on your chest, or rolling a receiving blanket and placing it under his chest. The blanket was the only thing that helped DD, and she started rolling about two weeks later, stopped using the blanket, and loved being on the floor.

You mean you don't have to do it? Everyone makes it seem like my kid is never going to sit up or walk if I don't do it..

Lol, it is good to try it out here and there. But your son doesn't have to be on the floor for 20 minutes a day or some smurf. Lay him down for a few minutes on the floor with ya, when he gets tired of it, then stop. It isn't that vital, people are crazy.
My first would only do tummy time for maaaaybe 3 minutes, tops. I still tried and got those couple minutes in. But he was fine, doctor wasn't worried about it at all. He sat up right on time, crawled early, and walked right at a year.

you cant force your child to do something they dont want to expecially at that age my son hated tummy time at first as well and i would only do it occasionally and he wasnt late on anything he rolled over at 2 months sat up at 5 months started crawling at 7 months leave it up to your daughter and let her take her time on things and enjoy the baby stage with her cause by the time you know it shes gonna be running around the house and talking up a storm

Mine hated it when is was little little too...they eventually get more and more used to it. Just don't force it..and she had her "tummy time" on my chest a lot...you could try that.

My 2 month old daughter loves tummy time. Especially on my chest. She just got her shots today so that's where she's sleeping right now

My dd hated tummy time. We almost never did it. She sat on het own at 4 and a half months and was crawling everywhere by 6 and a half months. She's almost 7 months and pulls herself up on stuff. Don't worry
