SAHM with more then one child.

posted 3rd Oct
I am a SAHM of an almost 3 year old. I can count on one hand how many times she has had a sitter, so we're together ALL the time..we have never been apart from each other for a night ever! so we have always fell asleep together.
The scariest thing to me, about having a new baby, is being in the hospital for 3 days after my c-section...It scares me so bad it makes me cry   I just know she is going to be screaming for me at night, and possibly more then just at night.
How did anyone with a similar situation get through this? how did it turn out? what things did you do to make it better?? she will be home with SO.

I'm having the exact same fear. Only I don't even know who is going to watch my LO when I'm in labor. I have never left him in the 15 months he's been on this planet. Idk what i'm gonna do

I am not too worried, bc DD sleeps on her own, so I am hoping she won't even be fazed. My mom is coming to stay so DH can be at the hospital with me. It makes me sad to think about, but I can't worry too much.

We are going to be going through the same thing, my son turns 3 this month and I get so emotional thinking about leaving him while I'm in the hospital   I have no idea how he is going to act! He has really never been away from me until just recently he started preschool but never at night. I'm so worried

Shes gonna lose it I know it
shes gonna be screaming for mommy and I wont be here...I feel like she will feel left out like I left her for the new baby or something...I wish she could stay with me.

We had the same situation with my DD when DS was being born. (She stayed with my sister one night and then my brother and sis in law the next night) I just told them to let her call whenever she started getting upset. The first night she called and I talked to her and even sang to her on the phone and she eventually fell asleep and was fine the next day. They brought her to see me and that night with my brother she only called me to tell me goodnight! lol

Hopefully she can spend as much time in the hospital with you as possible and then when it's time to go home she can be with someone she knows? it's gonna be hard but it's only a few days.. that's what I keep telling myself anyway

She'll be able to visit you, it won't be that bad. I left my 16 month old for almost 3 months and she was fine. Have a little more hope in your kids ability to adapt

I think this is a fear/concern for all mothers. Even ones that work outside of the home

yea I hope so too, she will be home with daddy. He has never had to really put her to sleep by himself, I think shes gonna give him a run for his money.

Well now is the time to start. You've got a bit of time to get them adjusted.

yea I guess we will have to just do that, but even then I'll have to hear her crying for me, and it will be hard to sit down stairs listening to her want me. I feel like an smurf. Probably the hormones not helping.
