Honestly, how is what you initially said to him 'not rude?'

This...because I've done that. Tell me I don't do smurf when I work full time and go to school part time. Smurfer, I'll show you what it looks like to not do smurf around the house. It worked

My So and I both work full time ... the same job ... and the same number of hours. I work afternoons and he works mornings. The bastard can either make his own lunch or starve ... this isn't 1952.

that's how I felt. I worked full time up until I was 7 months pregnant, and no one ever made my lunch or anything for me. I'm a big girl. I'm not his maid OR his wife, it's not my job to look after him. I do ENOUGH for him. All I said was "babe you shouldn't make mommom make lunch all the time she can barely stand up as it is" and he didn't think anything of it. we didn't start fighting until he told me I don't do smurf. So tonight, I did not touch a thing in our apartment, I left everything how it was. Now, when he has no idea where anything is, no dinner ready when he gets home, and no clean work clothes for tomorrow - he'l rethink his statement of I "don't do smurf."

I don't think it was rude... if he sits on his ass and doesn't do smurf and expects his grandmother or wife to heed to his beck and call... yeah he should be called out for it!

<blockquote><b>Quoting ----&&:</b>" Guys are stupid and don't think before they open their mouth. Pick your battles though....is this really something worth fighting over?"</blockquote>

I would say it absolutely is something to fight over....she was trying to take up for his grandmother and tell him he needed to help her because he is a grown man and fully able to. He proceeded to disrespect her and say she doesn't do smurf when clearly she does. Why should she let him disrespect her like that? Just because he works doesn't mean he shouldn't have to lift a finger for himself and their household.

I'm sorry you're going through that :/ That sucks. Men are morons sometimes. How the hell can he think you do nothing?!

I really hate when people think staying home with a baby means you're "on your ass" all day. That's not at all what that means! And you're taking 6 classes on top of that, and cleaning up after him? I know how you feel. It wouldn't kill your SO to be freaking appreciative.

If my SO said that, he wouldn't be my SO anymore. I'd be all "See ya, taking a mini vacation" and leave him with the kids, as long as I knew they would be safe with him. Because that is BULLSmurf to say "You aint leaving me with the kids."

thanks for all the support ladies. We didn't speak at all that day and I didn't clean a damn thing or do dinner. But he did come home and apologize multiple times saying he's an idiot for what he said and he just gets aggravated because he hates his job and would rather switch places with me. It doesn't excuse what he said/did but when he saw how dirty the apartment was and he had no clean work clothes or a meal to eat - he realized.
