Can baby wear clothes that are too big

posted 3rd Oct
How bad is it if baby wears clothes that are too big for him? We've got newborn clothes, but most of his stuff is 0-3 months or 3-6 months.
I figured that I'd rather have him wearing slightly bigger clothes than risking him growing out of new born or not even fitting in the first place.
My mom told me the only thing that has to fit snug is the pyama's at night, cause they can get cold when it's not tight enough.

Any thoughts?

Yes, baby can wear clothes that are too big. Plus, a lot of babies come out around 8lbs (on average) so they're right at the end of the newb clothes anyway. Baby should be fine.

Yes they can. All of my son's clothes are 0-3 and he's only a little bit over a month old. Rather have growing room ya know?

Yep, they'll be a little baggy at first but he'll grow into them in a couple of weeks. I'd probably want just one or two properly fitted outfits for pictures and such though. It might look funny if he's swimming in clothes.

Both of my girls have pretty much ALWAYS been in between sizes. So usually they wear stuff a little to big (since I figure that's better than the clothes being a little too small).

Thanks, I was feeling like a bad mama for a second there, since he only has a few new born things
