baby outfits for hospital bag. size ?

posted 3rd Oct
About how big is baby too big for newborn clothes? That's all I have packed & I'm not sure if I should pack some 0-3 just in case? His going home outfit is freaking adorable but its newborn size. I will be so disappointed if he won't be able to fit..I'm 34w5d & as of Monday he is estimated to be 5lbs7oz. U/s tech said he could gain a half a pound to a pound every week until delivery. I'm worried he is going to be huge!

The U/S could be off by a pound or two either way. I'd say you're probably fine with newborn size but throw in a 0-3 month just incase. My LO was 8 lbs 7 oz at birth, 7 lbs 15 oz when we left the hospital and newborn size fit him just fine.

they have no idea how big your baby is. Honestly. Don't stress. It wouldn't hurt to take a few newborn sized outfits and a few 0-3 months. They're tiny so they don't take much space and then no matter what size the baby is, you're covered. My son was 8lbs 4 oz and we just let him wear a hospital shirt home and had a bklanket on him in the car. It was spring so it was warm

I would take one of each. Sometimes, baby clothes can fit strange on baby...even if baby is of weight. Better be safe with two outfits anyway...my LO peed on his first one.

Newborn clothes say they fit up to 8lbs. My girls were both 8lbs 4oz and worn newborn clothes for about a month. My son was 9lbs 5oz and he could wear newborn clothes for about 2-3 weeks.

My son was 8lb 6oz but came home in 0-3, we had to have someone go to the house and grab some 0-3, because we did not bring any!!

I ended up packing two newborn outfits and two 0-3 month outfits, just in case Baby didn't fit in an outfit and/or had an accident.

Son was 7lbs, 4 oz and fit in newborn clothes well
Daughter was 6lbs, 5.6 oz and newborn clothes were really huge on her - but she also wasn't in newborn clothes very long... maybe a week or two.

My Stanka was 7lbs 2oz and his going home outfit was a newborn and it actually was big, but I also like adult clothes it depends on brand!!!! But if he is able to wear the newborn outfit he will probably will only be able to wear it from hospital til maybe a month old!

as long as he gets to wear it at least once i'll be happy!! It is too dang cute for him to not be able to wear it!

really length makes the smaller clothes fit/not fit more than baby's weight. Picking an outfit without attached feet will ensure it will fit for even longer.

My daughters were 6 pounds and 8 pounds and both wore newborn home and for a while after. But I always take 0-3 just in case!
