re: Lower abortion limit

I often wonder this, too. Myself and my two bestfriends are not on any birth control, we all ONLY use condoms (properly) and none of us have ever had an "oopsie" baby. I'm in a good position to have another one so it wouldn't be the end of the world, we just currently aren't trying so we just use condoms.. I don't understand how all these people are getting pregnant while on the pill and using condoms.

Eh, I've been there.
There are times when we had less than that to our name and just simply couldn't afford anything, at all.

I understand being broke. I don't understand not having any friends, family or acquaintances to help when in such a dire circumstance. I understand it would be hard to ask for money for an abortion but you wouldn't have to ask too many people to scrape together $350.
It would be better to short the landlord and utility companies and ask some friends than stay pregnant.

Ok heres my thing. Majority of abortions are do to mother not being able to afford or handle another child or a child. So they opt for abortion. But they do not have the money for the abortion. So they are "forced" to contiue on with the pregnancy. Thats where adoption comes in. Obviously unless you all of a sudden came into some money, you still can't afford that child. But of course I hear" well I carried the child so I want to keep it now" So now your only thinking of yourself. Not the baby at this point. But yet when your thinking of abortion your thinking of the unborn child. Adoption is a beautiful thing. The child will have love, food, housing etc. I understand its hard. Society throws it in your face "how could you give your ababy away"? Its called thinking of the CHILD! Also its some of those who are all for abortion who belittle those who choose adoption. I feel those who give a child a chance through adoption are awesome mothers!! They are thinking of their child, putting that childs needs before their own.

Luckily, IF I were in that situation (which I wouldn't be b/c I wouldn't have another abortion), I do have family that would help me out. In fact, my grandmother paid for the abortion I did have (I was 14, I couldn't pay it myself).

I can't think of anyone I know who is pro choice who wouldn't help someone poll resources for an abortion.
I would imagine that someone who can't find any help would have burned lots of bridges in their life.
$350???
My rental properties are cheap. My tenants who pay $615 have had problems with their car. For the past 3 months they have been paying late and/or installments. For all I know, they had an abortion! Where there is a will there is a way. Disclaimer - i realize there is mental illness out there and I understand that some of them may not be able to figure things out. Other than that, I can't understand not being able to come up with $350 AND thinking that $350 is a lot to end a life.

This is how I feel. As much as I think the woman should always have the choice but I also hate the idea of a baby that could live outside of the womb being "killed"
I don't feel like I can really answer this post

Adoption IS a wonderful thing. And the women who can do it are incredibly strong. But call me selfish but if I could not afford an abortion and was forced to carry that baby to term I could NOT get rid of it. Even if that child went to the smurfing president and got everything it could ever want I would not be able to live with myself knowing my child was out there being raised by someone else. And that goes for open adoption also. I couldn't do it.
Yes I guess that's selfish. But when it comes to my family, my DNA, my child I think I have the right to be selfish. I couldn't do it. Point blank...

If I couldnt adopt my kid out and give them a chance to live then I definitely couldnt abort them.

So the only option you are giving yourself is keeping it? What if you were having financial difficulty and could not afford another child?

I'm having financial diffculty right now but am proud to say I am not on ANY gvt assistance whatsoever and pay all my bills myself. It will be hard with a newborn but I will make it work any which way I have to.
I am also pregnant off a one night stand, which many girls would choose to abort but I will proudly have a beautiful baby instead
I was on food stamps when I had my son as well and was not in any way financially stable enough to support a child but I did it all on my own and my son never starved or went without clothes or a place to live. It's called breastfeeding and free clothes off BG, from friends, craigslist etc. and then I actually worked (OMG) to support my son.

And I also never said I was against adoption. I said IF I couldnt bring myself to adopt my child out, then I definitely would never be able to abort. Adopting my child out would be much easier than aborting them if I had to make that choice.

See that's where we are different. I would rather not bring my child into being if it meant that I could not take care of it. I would rather know that I didn't bring another child into this world than to go through the suffering of having to give up that child and to know what that would do to that child when he/she found out that they were adopted.

To you. To some people adopting out would be a lot harder!
