I could only pump for 4 months before my boobs dried up, but I got enough milk out of me to last him 6.

I wasn't proud of myself, I was actually rather angry that I'd let him down. It wasn't until I came to BG actually that I realized what I'd done for him and that I shouldn't beat myself up.. so thank you. That means a lot <3

I only nursed both of my kids for a month and they went on formula. They are both perfectly healthy and have no digestive issues. Plus, I hear people saying that breast feeding is easier than formula. It wasn't easier for me. I guess it might be for a woman who stays home 24/7 or doesn't mind nursing in public. But I'm away from home so much that it didn't really work for me to pull out my breast and feed my baby. I always thought formula was easier.

Any amount of breastfeeding is something to be proud of. Its the fact that you cared enough to do it that matters.

yeah but getting up in the middle of the night to mix a bottle is much harder than taking a boob out and going back to sleep

Seriously. I basically sleep through the night, because we co-sleep and when she wakes up, I stick a boob in her mouth and go right back to sleep. It's wonderful.

I hear that.

And damn straight I'll bf wherever and whenever. I have no smurfs to give about what others think of me feeding my babies.

I wasnt sure I wanted to breastfeed my 1st, Ive never known anyone whose breastfed before, I was intimidated, but in the end I decided to do it, and well, we are still at it over 2 1/2 years later.
The benefits out weigh the cons so much it was a no brain decision for us.
its good for both mom and baby!
The bond is amazing, I never had to clean bottles unless I pumped, which was like 2 times haha... I never had to wake up in the middle of the night to mix and warm a bottle with a screaming baby, I just popped a boob in her mouth lol..
it decreases your chances for breastcancer in us. ..it reduces your babies risk of allergies and getting sick....its easier on their tummies...and I didnt get my 1st post partum period til she was 8 months old.. some women go longer without..plus its a natural calorie burner, I was down to my pre baby weight by 4 months, and my stomach looked fantastic!
Its also something I am so proud of.

Eh, I don't co-sleep and never did. Even when I did nurse, I got up and sat in the rocking chair because I didn't want the baby to sleep in my bed. So I was getting up either way.

When I said I didn't like to nurse in public, that has nothing to do with caring about what other people think. I'm just a modest person and it made me uncomfortable. I never cared what other people thought and I don't mind seeing women breastfeed. I think it's awesome that they do it infact. I just didn't like it.

Yes! I felt almost like a normal human being a few weeks after birth.

And I hated breast feeding in public, too. I used formula a *couple* times in public and had no problems.

What if there were no formula or bottles?

I loved breast feeding. If I don't hear baby, my husband would whip the breast out for him and baby would suck without even waking me. There was no getting out of bed to warm anything up. I breastfed whenever, wherever. The most natural thing for baby.

No, I understood that.

I'm modest too, I didn't flagrantly expose my breast whilst twirling a tasseled pastie on my nipple. It can be done lol.

I had my son at 17 and he's formula fed. He's 100% healthy and happy but there are definitely times when I wish he was breastfed and I know that I'm definitely going to try with my future children. There's no harm in trying, that's for sure!
