salad dressing

posted 3rd Oct
which low calorie/low fat/fat free dressings do you like? I love dressing on salad, I realize that kills the nutrition of it.

Has anyone tried any of these? If so, how were they?
1. safeway select enlighten Herb and balsalmic vinaigrette
2. safeway select enlighten Honey Mustard
3. Kraft light done right house dressing

Also, what are your favorite toppings for salad to keep it healthy but interesting?

Italian fat free! Omg. Tomatoes, fat free cheese, portioned grilled chicken, cucumbers, and fat free croutons.

that sounds so freakin good right now! Where do you find fat free cheese? I haven't had any luck! I only found some made out of veggies but it was "cheese flavored"

Walmart? Publix? I've seen it there. It's made by Kraft and is already shredded. Adding egg whites is good too. Plus carrots. Yea.... So hungry now.

I'll have to look again cause that veggie cheese is super expensive! But OMG I love me some salad!

I don't like salad dressing. I like the taste of the leaves and everything

but I will add a squirt of lemon juice, a dash of parm cheese, and a shake of pepper

It makes the salad pop a bit more

I read an article that said using light and low fat dressings take away the nutrition of a salad. You won't absorb all the good stuff that you want. It's actually best to use regular full fat/calorie dressing so your body can absorb all those nutrients. Just use less

I actually learned in nutrition tht the added fat from salad dressing could actually be less beneficial to the diet. That's exactly why I look at the calorie make up of salad dressings.
